My Vision for Your Reeds

At OReeds, I believe the best reeds become from true understanding between the oboist and the reed maker. That's why I like to take a personal approach with every customer. And that’s why I encourage you to contact me before placing your order.

By talking first, I can craft reeds that are suited to you and your preferences. Over time, this communication builds trust and helps me refine your reeds so they get better with every order.

If you already know exactly what works for you - staple, cane diameter, shape, scrape etc. - just let me know. I can make reeds 100% tailored to your specifications, completely different from those on my website.

If you're not sure what you need, we can discuss your playing style, your oboe model, and your sound goals. Then, we can experiment together until we find your perfect reed.

If you place an order without any special instructions, you'll receive my default reed, made to my own preferred specifications (listed in the product description). These reeds are crafted exactly as I would make them for myself and I think they’re an excellent starting point for discovering your preferences.

At OReeds, I don't want to sell "just another reed." I want to create your reeds.

About Me

Hi! I’m Julia, an oboist and reed maker living in Poland.

I’ve been playing the oboe for over ten years, and along the way, I also got really into making reeds. After finishing my music studies , I’ve kept performing, teaching, and making reeds for oboists across Europe and beyond. I also run oboerecords.com, where I record oboe tracks from home for composers and music producers around the world.

My reed-making style comes from what I learned from my oboe teachers in Poland. They taught me to care about sound, control, and consistency. I founded OReeds to make European-style handmade reeds more accessible - but not generic.
